John Ressler

Ephrata Native

John E. Ressler, 61, died this morning in the emergency room of Ephrata Community Hospital after being taken ill at his home, 405 E. Brubaker Valley Road, Lititz. He had been under the care of a physician for a heart condition.

He was married to Kathryn L. Remick Ressler.

Ressler was employed by the C. P. Wenger Feed Co., Ephrata, as an assistant foreman since 1945. He also worked for the Earl W. Witmer Refrigeration Co., Ephrata, for the past 30 years.

Born in Earl Township, he was a son of late Grube and Anna Zimmerman Ressler.

Ressler was a member of Mohler's Church of the Brethren, Ephrata, where he was a deacon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Lois J., wife of Galen W. Martin, Denver; Linda S., wife of Daniel E. Miller Jr., Lancaster; Leon J., missionary, of Suna Migori, Kenya; Kathy A. Ressler, missionary, Piaeraus, Greece; and Loren R., at home; four grandchildren; six brothers and one sister: Martin E., Quarryville R2; Elmer R., Kennett Square R2; Harold L., East Earl; Melvin J., Akron; Clarence I., Lititz R4; Elvin J., Ephrata R4; and Anna Mae, Ephrata R2.

Narrative

RESSLER - Entered into rest in Ephrata, Pa., on March 23, 1982, John E. Ressler, husband of Kathyrn L. Remick Ressler, of 405 E. Brubaker Valley Road, Lititz, Pa., in his 62nd year. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Mohler Church of the Brethren, Ephrata Township, Pa., on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Galen R. Hackman, Rev. Ralph B. Heisey, Rev. Harry B. Gibbel, Rev. John G. Leid and Rev. Noah W. Martin will officiate. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Gravenor Home for Funerals, Inc., 100 W. Main at Church Street, Ephrata, on Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church on Sunday afternoon for one hour prior to the time of the service. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Anastasis Ministry of Youth with a Mission, P.O. Box YWAM, Kailua, Kona, Hawaii 96740, or the Eastern Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities, Salunga, Pa. 17538.
