Marty's (Martin Ressler's) book says the death year was 1927, making Elam 10 years old at death. However, all the SAGA databases have his death in 1917, meaning he died at about 4 months. Given that everyone agrees on the March 21 date, I will assume that Marty's book had a typo and that 1917 is correct.
